Ransaru Nutmeg (Sadikka) without Shell
The source of the Nutmeg seed is the dark leaved evergreen tree belonging to genus Myristica. We offer you Nutmeg (Myristica fragrans) in its raw form without the outer shell which is convenient when grating it into a coarse or fine powder according to a consistency of your choice.
It boasts of a very unique pungent fragrance and slightly warm yet sweet taste similar to cinnamon or cloves. Our Lakpura Nutmeg seed comes in its whole form and is sourced from homegrown gardens and selected farmlands in Sri Lanka.
It is a popular spice that is used in seasonal drinks and desserts as well as baked goods including cookies, breads, spiced cakes, coffees, mulled wines, eggnog, ciders, sauces, various meat and vegetables dishes and more. For the ideal flavour profile, keep the seeds in an air tight jar and grate and powder it as and when required.
